As summer is soon approaching, getting outdoors as much as possible is such an enticing thought. However, when trying to save money, you automatically think that you’re going to have to cut out a social life. All those events and outings do add up in the expenses department. But just because you’re on a budget, doesn’t mean you cannot have fun in the sun with your friends and family. Read on for some thrifty tips for saving money whilst still socializing!
Thrifty Camping Tricks
Camping is a lot of fun! I find it to be a great bonding experience when I go with a group of friends or even my own family members. When you decide to camp with several people, it becomes an extremely cost-friendly activity. Everyone can have a certain role in the group, and be designated something to provide, whether it is camping equipment, food or beverages.
Zero Cost Outdoor Exercise
There are so many forms of exercise outdoors that literally costs nothing! For some people exercise mightn’t be a fun idea, but think about walking or running with your friends. Not only will you be exercising, but you’ll be socializing too! If you really like your sports, think about joining a sports team. You will get the chance to meet new people, but keep in mind that there tends to be joining fees. Another great option is to go for a hike with your friends. This is a great chance to get out of the house and immerse yourself in some scenery that you perhaps normally wouldn’t.
Inexpensive Weekend Picnic
One of my favorite things to do on the weekend when the weather is nice is to have a picnic with my friends or family members. It is the perfect low-key, simple get together that doesn’t cost much money to put together when you organize it well. Everyone that attends can pitch in and bring something along, so you’re not the only person providing on the day. Share the preparation and share the fun!
