Joining the Starbucks loyalty program is relatively easy with name, email and password necessary. You need to have a registered card in your possession though, pertaining to Starbucks, Teavana or La Boulange. Then you are all systems go to being able to create an account! This card is a convenient way to pay for purchases, as it is preloaded with your own money. Every time you make a purchase with this card means you earn a ‘Star.’ Collecting these ‘Stars’ puts you on your way towards receiving special rewards. These ‘Stars’ are eared and then stored in the customer’s user profile set up in the joining stage, which can then be redeemed for food and drink.
Starbucks have done something special by having a mobile app that relates to their My Starbucks Reward program. Starbucks customers have all the power they need right at their fingertips. Making payments for purchases, ability to view stars and rewards, and to see the current offers going on is the power that the app has.
The My Starbucks Rewards has three different levels that you can accelerate to and conquer. The first level is simply the Welcome level. Once you sign up you get a complimentary birthday drink or treat as well as a birthday coupon for 15% off at the Starbucks Store. There is also custom offers delivered to you via email. The second level is Green. Once you collect five ‘Stars’ within 12 months you receive the same as Welcome level, as well as free in-store refills on tea or coffee, hot or iced. The Gold level is the third and final. You need to collect 30 ‘Stars’ within 12 months. You receive exactly the same as the Green level and additionally get a free food or drink item after earning another 12 ‘Stars.’ You’ll also receive a personalized Gold Card. How cool!
This loyalty program is all about interacting with Starbucks, through in-store purchasing and involvement with the mobile app. The more you participate and earn ‘Stars’, the greater the opportunity and reward.
